I'm a Montana Journalist and aspiring novelist based in Billings. I cut my teeth with Marine Corps Intelligence in Iraq and Afghanistan, learned to report the news while running a paper in Northeast Montana and moved to Billings in 2021 to cover Crime and Justice for the Billings Gazette. I begin my new position as City Editor at the Gazette in January. In addition to journalism, I seek to tell the truth through long-form nonfiction, fiction, and poetry. I graduated from the Mile-High MFA at Regis University in 2021, have in MA in Creative Writing and earned a BA in Theology.
I'm hoping this website will kick off a group of writers and readers interested in writing about war, crime and trauma. I know many of us have loved through experiences that have left us unable to process or just be. I believe writing can change that for almost anyone. Even if you only write for yourself.
So, sign up for emails, follow this site and my social media pages and reach out to me to write, talk or reminisce about this life and its challenges.
